Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) (Major Depressive Disorder)

Our IPT focuses on identifying patterns of interaction, understanding emotions, and resolving conflicts within relationships. Through a collaborative and supportive therapeutic approach, we create a safe space where clients can explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences related to relationships. Our therapists emphasize psychoeducation on communication styles, assertiveness training, and conflict resolution techniques to promote effective interpersonal interactions. So, whether you’re facing difficulties in personal relationships, struggling with social isolation, or seeking to improve communication skills, our IPT services are tailored to support you in achieving meaningful and lasting improvements in your interpersonal connections and overall well-being.

Improving Relationships and Communication Skills:

We focus on helping individuals improve relationships and enhance communication skills. We use IPT techniques to facilitate open dialogue, improve active listening skills, and promote assertiveness in expressing needs and boundaries. Furthermore, through our structured sessions and role-playing exercises, clients learn to identify communication patterns, recognize triggers for conflict, and develop strategies for effective communication. We address issues such as miscommunication, emotional distancing, and difficulties in expressing emotions within relationships. By enhancing self-awareness and interpersonal understanding, clients can build stronger connections, foster empathy, and establish healthier boundaries in relationships.

IPT is a short-term, structured therapy focused on improving interpersonal relationships and addressing interpersonal issues that contribute to psychological symptoms such as depression or anxiety.
While CBT focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors, IPT focuses specifically on improving relationships, communication skills, and addressing interpersonal conflicts as they relate to emotional distress.
IPT benefits individuals experiencing interpersonal difficulties, grief, role transitions, relationship conflicts, social isolation, or those seeking to improve communication and relational skills.
IPT is typically a short-term therapy, ranging from 12 to 16 sessions. The duration may vary based on individual progress, the complexity of interpersonal issues, and treatment goals.
